Guaw singsiu Vuddyy qawsi siuw qaixlut. Cincniu jitt kuanw simrjiww qaur snax-cingx uigii, ixqip veh-bxan biser giabjer, simsingr giabjer qapp ziaver giabjer, jinrqaix cingjing. Srinx qapp simx jigjing, jniaa jyr arhat. Guaw si Zulaii jiongww sinwdoo lairdew decc qiwlok uiho quiqiw :ee. Vuddyy cinsinx inwjingr guaw ee simx u cisiuw qaiwlut qapp siusinx. Jingwlangg cuiqiw guaw si tauu miaa. Vuddyy mng quanhe uanbuanw tongdat. Upali arose from his seat, bowed at the Buddha’s feet, and said to the Buddha, "I followed the Buddha in person when he fled the city and left the home life. I observed the Thus Come One endure six years of diligent asceticism. I watched the Thus Come One subdue all the demons, and adherents of external paths and become liberated from all outflows based on worldly desire and greed. I based myself on the Buddha’s teaching of precepts, encompassing the three thousand awesome deportments and the eighty thousand subtle aspects until both my karma of the nature and karma of restraint became pure. My body and mind became tranquil, and I accomplished Arhat-ship. In the Thus Come One’s assembly, I record the rules governing discipline. The Buddha himself certified my mind’s upholding of the precepts and my genuine cultivation of them. I am considered a leader of the assembly. The Buddha asks about perfect penetration. I disciplined the body until it attained ease and comfort. Then I disciplined the mind until it attained penetrating clarity. After that, both body and mind experienced keen and thorough absorption. That is the foremost means."

優波離。即從座起。頂禮佛足。而白佛言。我親隨佛踰城出家。親觀如來六年勤苦。親見如來降伏諸魔。制諸外道。解脫世間貪欲諸漏。承佛教戒。如是乃至三千威儀。八萬微細。性業遮業。悉皆清淨。身心寂滅。成阿羅漢。我是如來眾中綱紀。親印我心。持戒修身。眾推為上。佛問圓通。我以執身。身得自在。次第執心。心得通達。然後身心一切通利。斯為第一。
