Vuddyy qra Ananda qongw, "Hitt xee vut ee tauu vaiw huathue, sniabunn ee sowliong sngr be liauw, posad iarr qangrkuanw. Vaccingbanrig buliong tangx vixping Mahamaudgalyayana :ee qingquer asamkhya nayuta qiab, simrjiww qaur beddo longxx decc qewsngr, iarr berdangr liauxqaiw u zuarr je sowliong. Kyxviw duarhaiw, cimdo qapp kuacdo longxx buliong. Qaxsuw u langg qra jit qix mox hunx jyr jit-vah hxun, qycc ixx qidiongx jit hxun ee mox bag jit dih haixjuiw. Liw sniu sniaw kuanw? Soxx bag .diyc .ee qapp hex duarhaiw, jerjiyw anwjnuaw viw?"

Ananda rinr Vuddyy qongxx, "Ix soxx bag .diyc ee juiw qapp duarhaiw siy' viw, jerjiyw ee vixle m si kaxbiau ee tenbunn, sngwsut, gensuu, iacc piwsu soxx tangx jaix :ee."

Vuddyy qra Ananda qongw, "Cincniu Mahamaudgalyayana hiaxee jingwlangg, qingquer vaccingbanrig nayuta qiab, qewsngr hitt xee tauu vaiw huathue sniabunn qapp posad ee sowliong, soxx jaix ee sowliong naxx cincniu jit dih juiw, soxx m jaix :ee naxx cincniu duarhaixjuiw."

(Buddha Spoken Infinite Life Sutra - 21) 

The Buddha said to Ananda, "The number of shravakas at the first teaching assembly of that Buddha was incalculable; so was the number of the bodhisattvas. Even if an immeasurable and uncountable number of humans multiplied by millions of kotis should all become like Mahamaudgalyayana and together reckon their number during innumerable nayutas of kalpas, or even until they attain Nirvana, they could still not know that number. Let us suppose that there is a great ocean, infinitely deep and wide, and that one takes a drop of water out of it with a hundredth part of a split hair. How would you compare that drop of water with the rest of the ocean?"
Ananda replied, "When the drop of water is compared with the great ocean, it is impossible even for one skilled in astronomy or mathematics to know the proportion, or for anyone to describe it by any rhetorical or metaphorical expressions."
The Buddha said to Ananda, "Even if people like Mahamaudgalyayana were to count for millions of kotis of kalpas, the number of the shravakas and bodhisattvas at the first teaching assembly who could be counted would be like a drop of water, and the number of sages yet to be counted would be like the rest of the ocean."

佛語阿難：「彼佛初會，聲聞眾數不可稱計，菩薩亦然。能如大目犍連，百千萬億無量無數，於阿僧祇那由他劫，乃至滅度，悉共計校，不能究了多少之數。譬如大海，深廣無量。假使有人析其一毛，以為百分，以一分毛沾取一渧，於意云何？其所渧者，於彼大海，何所為多？」阿難白佛：「彼所渧水比於大海，多少之量，非巧歷算數言辭譬類所能知也。」佛語阿難：「如目連等，於百干萬億那由他劫，計彼初會聲聞、菩薩，所知數者猶如一渧，其所不知如大海水。
