Dirr jiax, Sewjunx duiww jiongww bikiu huah qongxx, "Jiongww bikiu!" Hiaxee bikiu qongw, "Jniawsi, Sewjunx!" laii huedab Sewjunx. Sewjunx qongw, "Jiongww bikiu! Langg ee siurmia dew, m tangx byy uirr birlaii pacsngr, m tangx byy juer sxen, m tangx byy juer senrhingg. U sniwmia :ee byy jit xee be siw. Jiongww bikiu! Jiac dngg huewsiu :ee iarr vah huer jyxiu nia."

Hitt sii, okmoo Mara laii Sewjunx hiax vaiwhongw. Vaiwhue quer, iong jimgensix duiww Sewjunx qongw:
"Langg ee siurmia sidjai jin' dngg,
Senrzinn byc knuawkinx.
Kyxviw iur qniaw lingx suh u vaw,
Sixbongg dyrr be laii."

[Sewjunx:]
"Langg ee siurmia sidjai jin' dew,
Senrzinn qaix knuawkinx.
Kyxviw langg ee taujangx dyc huew,
Sixbongg qamxx be laii?"

9. Lifespan (1)
Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rajagaha in the Bamboo Grove, the Squirrel Sanctuary. 

There the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus thus: “Bhikkhus!” “Venerable sir!” those bhikkhus replied. The Blessed One said this:
“Bhikkhus, this lifespan of human beings is short. One has to go on to the future life. One should do what is wholesome and lead the holy life; for one who has taken birth there is no avoiding death. One who lives long, bhikkhus, lives a hundred years or a little longer.” 

Then Mara the Evil One approached the Blessed One and addressed him in verse:
“Long is the lifespan of human beings,
The good man should not disdain it.
One should live like a milk-sucking baby:
Death has not made its arrival.”

“Short is the lifespan of human beings, 
The good man should disdain it. 
One should live like one with head aflame:
There is no avoiding Death’s arrival.” 

Then Mara the Evil One ... disappeared right there.

(九)壽命（其一）
如是我聞。爾時，世尊住王舍城竹林栗鼠養餌所。
於此，世尊呼諸比丘：「諸比丘！」彼諸比丘以「唯然！世尊！」奉答世尊。
世尊曰：「諸比丘！此人壽命短，不可不行於未來，不可不為善，不可不行梵行，生者無不死。諸比丘！則長壽者，亦少多於百歲！」
時，惡魔波旬，詣世尊前。詣已，以偈白世尊曰：
人壽實甚長　　　善人莫輕此
如飽乳赤子　　　死即豈不來
〔世尊：〕
人壽實甚短　　　善人應輕此
如人遇燃髮　　　死者豈不來
時，惡魔波旬……乃至……沒於其處。
