Hitt sii, junjiaw Vangisa anxnix sniu, “Dnaxx Sewjunx qapp go-vah xee longxx si arahant ee bikiu dauwdin druar dirr Rajagaha Sniaa Isigili Snuapniaa ee Ox Jiyhgamm. Junjiaw Dua Moggallana qiamxgiam inx hiaxee ee simx, si ixx qaixtuad byy soxx knikib. Dnaxx junjiaw Dua Moggallana dirr Sewjunx binrjingg. Guaw iong sikdongx ee jimgensix qra janwtanr.”

“Drat qaur koxnauw ee hitt hnua,
Jre dirr snuapniaa ee singwjiaw,
Sringr quer sixmoo drat qaur snax bingg,
Jiongww derjuw qra lexqingr.
Moggallana u dua sinlat,
Qiamxgiam tazinn ee simx.
Inx hiaxee simx qaixtuad,
Ix jaix inx byy soxx knikib.
Drat qaur koxnauw ee hitt hnua :ee,
Itcer longxx kurvi,
Qokk hongbin longxx uanbuanw.

10. Moggallana 
On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rajagaha on the Black Rock on the Isigili Slope, together with a great Sangha of bhikkhus, with five hundred bhikkhus all of whom were arahants. Thereupon the Venerable Mahamoggallana searched their minds with his own mind (and saw that they were) released, without acquisitions. 

Then it occurred to the Venerable Vangisa: “The Blessed One is dwelling at Rajagaha on the Black Rock on the Isigili Slope…. Thereupon the Venerable Mahamoggallana has searched their minds with his own mind (and seen that they are) released, without acquisitions. Let me extol the Venerable Mahamoggallana in the Blessed One’s presence with suitable verses.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, having saluted the Blessed One reverentially, said to him: “An inspiration has come to me, Blessed One! An inspiration has come to me, Sublime One!” 
“Then express your inspiration, Vangisa.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa extolled the Venerable Mahamoggallana in the Blessed One’s presence with suitable verses: 
“While the sage is seated on the mountain slope, 
Gone to the far shore of suffering, 
His disciples sit in attendance on him, 
Triple-knowledge men who have left Death behind. 
Moggallana, great in spiritual power, 
Encompassed their minds with his own, 
And searching (he came to see) their minds: 
Fully released, without acquisitions! 
Thus those perfect in many qualities 
Attend upon Gotama, 
The sage perfect in all respects, 
Gone to the far shore of suffering.”

爾時,世尊與五百比丘眾,俱住王舍城伊師耆利山側黑曜巖,皆是阿羅漢。時,尊者大目犍連,以驗彼等之心,解脫而無億波提。
時,尊者婆耆沙作如是思念:「今世尊與五百比丘眾,俱住王舍城伊師耆利山側黑曜巖,皆是阿羅漢。尊者大目犍連,以驗彼等之心,悉解脫而無億波提。今尊者大目犍連於世尊之面前,我以適當之偈讚歎。」
時,尊者婆耆沙,即從座起,一肩著衣,合掌禮世尊,以此白世尊曰:「世尊!我湧思念;善逝!我湧思念。」
世尊曰:「婆耆沙!請說。」
時,尊者婆耆沙對尊者大目犍連,於世尊面前,以適當之偈讚曰:
達苦惱彼岸   坐山側聖者
勝死達三明   弟子等禮敬
大神力目連   驗他諸人心
彼等心解脫   知無有餘依
達苦惱彼岸   具足一切支
成滿種種相   彼禮敬瞿曇

Sxen Quewongw, guaw si Kondanna.”

Hagsip byy hongwdong,
Itcer ixx u drat qaur.

9. Kondanna 
On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rajagaha in the Bamboo Grove, the Squirrel Sanctuary. Then the Venerable Anna Kondanna, after a very long absence, approached the Blessed One, prostrated himself with his head at the Blessed One’s feet, kissed the Blessed One’s feet with his mouth, and announced his name thus: “I am Kondanna, Blessed One! I am Kondanna, Sublime One!”

Then it occurred to the Venerable Vangisa: “This Venerable Anna Kondanna, after a very long absence, has approached the Blessed One … kisses the Blessed One’s feet and announces his name…. Let me extol the Venerable Annå Kondanna in the Blessed One’s presence with suitable verses.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, having saluted the Blessed One reverentially, said to him: “An inspiration has come to me, Blessed One! An inspiration has come to me, Sublime One!” 
“Then express your inspiration, Vangisa.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa extolled the Venerable Anna Kondanna in the Blessed One’s presence with suitable verses: 
“Enlightened in succession to the Buddha, 
The elder Kondanna, of strong endeavour, 
Is one who gains pleasant dwellings, 
One who often gains the seclusions.
Whatever may be attained by a disciple 
Who practises the Master’s Teaching, 
All that has been attained by him, 
One who trained diligently. 
Of great might, a triple-knowledge man, 
Skilled in the course of others’ minds— 
Kondanna, a true heir of the Buddha, 
Pays homage at the Teacher’s feet.”

爾時,世尊住王舍城竹林栗鼠養餌所。
時,尊者阿若憍陳如,甚久始詣世尊處。詣而五體投地於世尊足,以口接吻世尊之足,手磨而呼自名曰:「世尊!我是憍陳如;善逝!我是憍陳如。」
時,尊者婆耆沙如是思念:「此尊者阿若憍陳如,甚久始詣世尊處,詣而五體投地於世尊之足,以口接吻世尊之足,手磨自呼名曰:『世尊!我是憍陳如;善逝!我是憍陳如。』今尊者阿若憍陳如,於世尊面前,我以適當之偈讚歎。」
時,尊者婆耆沙,即從座起,一肩著衣,合掌禮世尊,以此白世尊曰:「世尊!我湧思念;善逝,我湧思念。」
世尊曰:「婆耆沙!請說。」
時,尊者婆耆沙對尊者阿若憍陳如,於世尊面前,以適當之偈讚曰:
上座憍陳如   隨順佛所證
虔誠出離者   屢屢快樂於
遠離之樂住   行如師之教
弟子之所達   學於不放逸
一切以達此   有具大威力
到達於三明   巧於他心智
法嗣憍陳如   今頭禮師足

“Sewjunx! Jitt siuw jimgensix m si ixjingg jyr :ee, si guaw jitmaw jiksii dirr simdiongx cuthen :ee.”
“Narr anxnix, Vangisa, qacc m si ixjingg jyr :ee, dyrr qycjaiww qex qongw .quaw.”
“Hyw, Sewjunx!” Junjiaw Vangisa hongrdab Sewjunx, dyrr qongw qyckacc je jimgensix janwtanr Sewjunx:
“Sringr quer okmoo siaog ee lo,
Pacpuar soxu jiongwgai decc qniaa,
Cetdng qad ee sokvak,
Hunved qongw cingjing ee hxuad.
Guanw jiaxee tangx dro quer duarjuiw,
Ix qangxsuad qapp jixsi jiongxjiongw dy.
Dirr ix soxx qongw be siw ee hxuad,
Guanw jiaxee u qnir diyc hxuad,
Soxx lip be iydang,

8. Over a Thousand
On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Savatthi in Jeta’s Grove, Anathapimika’s Park together with a great Sangha of bhikkhus, with 1250 bhikkhus. 

Now on that occasion the Blessed One was instructing, exhorting, inspiring, and encouraging the bhikkhus with a Dhamma talk concerning Nibbana. And those bhikkhus were listening to the Dhamma with eager ears, attending to it as a matter of vital concern, directing their whole mind to it. 

Then it occurred to the Venerable Vangisa: “This Blessed One is instructing the bhikkhus with a Dhamma talk concerning Nibbana. And those bhikkhus are listening to the Dhamma with eager ears…. Let me extol the Blessed One to his face with suitable verses.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, having saluted the Blessed One reverentially, said to him: “An inspiration has come to me, Blessed One! An inspiration has come to me, Sublime One!” 
“Then express your inspiration, Vangisa.” 

Then the Venerable Vangisa extolled the Blessed One to his face with suitable verses:
“Over a thousand bhikkhus here 
Attend upon the Sublime One 
As he teaches the dust-free Dhamma, 
Nibbana inaccessible to fear.
They listen to the stainless Dhamma 
Taught by the Fully Enlightened One. 
The Enlightened One indeed shines 
Honoured by the Bhikkhu Sangha. 
O Blessed One, your name is ‘Naga,’ 
The best seer of the seers. 
Like a great cloud bearing rain 
You pour down on the disciples.
Having emerged from his daytime abode 
From a desire to behold the Teacher, 
Your disciple Vangisa, O great hero, 
Bows down in worship at your feet.” 

“Had you already thought out these verses, Vangisa, or did they occur to you spontaneously?”
“I had not already thought out these verses, venerable sir; they occurred to me spontaneously.” 
“In that case, Vangisa, let some more verses, not already thought out, occur to you.” 
“Yes, venerable sir,” the Venerable Vangisa replied. Then he extolled the Blessed One with some more verses that had not been previously thought out: 
“Having overcome the deviant course of Mara’s path, 
You fare having demolished barrenness of mind. 
Behold him, the releaser from bondage, 
Unattached, dissecting into parts.
For the sake of leading us across the flood 
He declared the path with its many aspects; 
In that Deathless declared (by him), 
The seers of Dhamma stand immovable.
The light-maker, having pierced right through, 
Saw the transcendence of all stations; 
Having known and realized it himself, 
He taught the best to the five.
When the Dhamma has been so well taught 
How can those who understand it be negligent? 
Therefore with reverence one should always train 
Diligently in the Blessed One’s Teaching.”

時,尊者婆耆沙如是思念:「今世尊依導引涅槃之法語,教示、利益、鼓勵諸比丘。彼等諸比丘,深切注意,虔誠、心意集中,傾耳聞法。我今以適當之偈,向世尊讚歎。」
時,尊者婆耆沙即從座起,一肩著衣,合掌禮敬世尊,以此白世尊曰:「世尊!我湧思念,善逝!我湧思念。」
世尊曰:「婆耆沙,請說。」
時,尊者婆耆沙,以適當之偈,向世尊讚歎曰:
千以上比丘   以離塵垢法
何處均無怖   禮敬說涅槃
應供善逝尊   正覺者所說
無有垢穢法   彼等比丘聞
比丘眾圍繞   實正覺者光
世尊實龍象   第七之聖者
猶如大雨降   弟子等受潤
為奉見我師   從日住出來
弟子之一人   我是婆耆沙
禮敬大雄足
「婆耆沙!此等偈乃汝以前所作耶?或汝立即憶起者耶?」
「世尊!此等偈非以前之作,乃我當今立即所現。」
「然則,婆耆沙!既非以前所作者,即更再多說。」
「唯然!世尊!」尊者婆耆沙奉答世尊,即說更多偈讚世尊:
勝惡魔邪路   行破諸障礙
結縛切斷者   分別說清法
我等度瀑流   說示種種道
於所說不死   我等法見者
樹立不運去   貫串光作者
過一切見處   以見於涅槃
自知並自證   其最上之法
我等說十處   於所善說法
知法之學者   無放逸餘地
依此世尊法   常在不放逸
禮敬而修學
