And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu dwell perceiving again and again dhammas as just dhammas? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu dwells perceiving again and again the five hindrances as just the five hindrances.
And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu dwell perceiving again
and again the five hindrances as just the five hindrances? Here, bhikkhus, while sense-desire is present in him, a bhikkhu knows, “There is
sense-desire present in me”; or while sense-desire is not
present in him, he knows, “There is no sense-desire present
in me”. He also knows how the sense-desire which has not
yet arisen comes to arise; he knows how the sense-desire
that has arisen comes to be discarded; and he knows how
the discarded sense-desire will not arise in the future.

然諸比丘!比丘如何於法觀法而住耶?諸比丘!於此,比丘於法即五蓋,觀法而住。又諸比丘!比丘如何於法即五蓋,觀法而住耶?諸比丘!於此,比丘於內貪欲存在時,了知:『於內貪欲存在。』於內貪欲不存在時,了知:『於內貪欲不存在。』彼知未生之貪欲生起,知已生之貪欲滅盡,又知已滅盡之貪欲,於未來不再生起。
